What If I’ve Never Skated?

That is exactly why Hockey Basics exists. Everyone starts somewhere. Falling, getting back up and trying again are part of learning. You do not need to be the best person on the ice to belong here.

​

How Can I Earn More Opportunities?

Coaches are looking for more than hockey skill. We notice kids who attend, listen, work hard, treat others well and keep trying when something is difficult.

Returning participants who are ready for the next step may be invited to Player Development, where they begin practicing in hockey equipment and learning more of the game.

Your effort matters.

Attendance, commitment and attitude this year will help us decide who is ready for future summer development and team-pathway opportunities.

Could I Become a Hockey Player?

Yes. Our Hockey House is building a path from a first experience on the ice to Player Development and a planned high-school development team. We expect the first team-development group to focus mostly on middle-school-aged players, but final ages will depend on who is interested and ready.

Selected team-pathway players may receive equipment, coaching, summer training, transportation support, meal assistance when needed and Our Hockey House clothing and team gear.

Do Not Let a Barrier Stop You From Asking

If you want to participate but getting to the rink, paying for gas or another family challenge makes it hard, ask your parent or guardian to tell us. We cannot promise every solution, but we want to understand the problem and try to help.
