Free and Affordable Ice Hockey Programs
Our Programs
Our Hockey House gives children, ages 5–16,
a place to discover hockey—and a path to keep growing if they love it.

Through free Community Hockey Basics and after school programs, children can step onto the ice without previous experience, equipment or cost standing in the way.
​
Continuing participants can build their skills in Player Development or can be guided to league play. Through demonstrated commitment, kids can be selected for future OHH team opportunities.
I’m a kid who wants to try hockey
Never skated before? That is okay. Learn what your first day can look like and how showing up, trying hard and being a good teammate can lead to more opportunities.
My child attends an IPS school
Learn how school-selected after-school programming, Community Hockey Basics and future development opportunities can help your child enter the sport at no cost.
I’m a teacher or school administrator
Give students the chance to try something new, build confidence and possibly discover a sport they want to pursue. Learn how school partnerships work and how to express interest.

Children ages 5–16 can learn skating and introductory hockey skills in a welcoming, all-skill-level environment at Holliday Park Ice Rink.

Our Hockey House Pathway:
1. Try Hockey
Start with Community Hockey Basics or an IPS school opportunity. Children can begin with little or no experience and use the equipment needed for the introductory program.
2. Learn the Basics
Players build skating ability, introductory hockey skills, confidence and comfort on the ice.
3. Demonstrate Commitment
We pay attention to attendance, effort, attitude, coachability and a child’s desire to continue—not only to who is already the strongest skater.
Returning participants who are ready to begin practicing in hockey equipment may be invited into fully supported Player Development sessions.
5. Grow Toward a Team
Our Hockey House is working toward a high-school development team and a longer-term pathway that can include summer training, mentorship and additional family support for selected, committed players.
Current Winter Programming:
December 2026: A four-week session for returning IPS school partners.
January–February 2027: Eight weeks of Community Hockey Basics on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:00–6:00 p.m.
January–February 2027: IPS school programming, with the final school-session format based on school participation and available space.
Late January–February 2027: Six Sunday Player Development sessions for selected returning participants.

All programming through March 2027 will take place at Holliday Park Ice Rink.

Building a Home for the Future
Our Hockey House is working toward building a dedicated facility where young people can have consistent access to ice, training and off-ice support. We hope to begin programming in our future home as early as next winter and are working toward operating there by March 2028. If the facility is not yet ready, we will secure another location so player development can continue.The goal is bigger than owning a rink. It is to create a place where children can belong, train, receive support and see a future for themselves in hockey and beyond.
